Objects tell stories and bring us to life. Five visual artists from Fribourg explore the dialogue with the things that surround us in ceramic and wood creations, paintings, photographs and installations.
Objects are often thought of as immobile and silent. Yet they are far from extinct. Bursting with memories, dreams and hopes, the object intertwines with our daily lives, our imagination, our actions and our beliefs.
The five visual artists tell the story of this fundamental link, approaching objects as fragments of personal or collective histories.

Peter Fink breathes an air of space into clay. His groups of colourful figures in glazed ceramic tell the story of mysterious characters. Through ceramics, an ancestral cultural medium, generations discover an atlas of memory that they can decipher with their own eyes. Peter Fink’s playful figures, clothed in soft or rough skin, stand on the cusp of contemporary art and design. Creatures, spectres or ghosts, they evoke dreams and imagination and echo the popular arts of comics and science fiction.
